Pi. Your academic excellence and dedication to the teaching
profession can earn you the opportunity to belong to Kappa Delta
Pi, the world's largest association of outstanding education
professionals. Kappa Delta Pi is the only organization that
represents all educators regardless of subject area specialty,
degree obtained, grade-level focus, or years of teaching experience.
Though diverse, all KDP members share a common purpose: We are
a dynamic community of exceptional educators committed to promoting
excellence in the education profession by recognizing and advancing
scholarship, leadership, and service.

Induction Criteria for
Zeta Epsilon Chapter
Undergraduates
When seeking membership as an undergraduate student, a candidate
must:
be an undergraduate in the Judith Herb College of Education
and have completed at least 50 or more semester hours of course
work by the end of the term prior to the time of initiation.

have at least 12 hours (or the equivalent) of professional
education courses programmed, in progress, or completed.

have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher for all coursework
completed.

exemplify worthy educational ideals.

express an intention of continuing in the field of education.

give evidence of leadership abilities.
Graduates
When seeking membership as a graduate student, a candidate
must:
- have full graduate standing in the Judith Herb College of
Education at the University of Toledo.
- have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher for all graduate
coursework completed. exemplify worthy educational ideals.
- express an intention of continuing in the field of education.
- give evidence of leadership abilities.
- have completed six (6) or more semester hours of graduate
work in the Judith Herb College of Education at the University
of Toledo
- have at least 15 hours (or the equivalent) of professional
education courses programmed, in progress, or completed.
Faculty
When seeking membership as a faculty member, a candidate must:
be a faculty member of in the Judith Herb College of Education
at the University of Toledo.
- give evidence of support for the Chapter and its programs.
- the number of faculty initiated at any one initiation ceremony
shall not exceed the number of other initiates.
Professional
Educators
Persons employed as teachers or administrators in local schools
may be invited to membership upon the recommendation of the
Membership Committee and the approval of the Executive Committee.

What are the Benefits of Membership?
- You will begin receiving membership benefits two weeks after
our chapter sends in your initiate forms to Headquarters.
The first item you will receive is a welcome e-mail, followed
shortly thereafter by a letter with your membership card.
- Being an active member, you will receive two quarterly publications:
New Teacher Advocate and Novice Notes.
- When you receive your membership card, you are eligible
for discounts on student teacher liability insurance, car
insurance, hotels, an online teacher supplies store, and more.

- Are you looking for career assistance? Sample resumes and
interview questions are available, as well as job search links,
under the Membership section of the Web site.
- In the Teachers Resources section of the Web site, you'll
find links to recommended sites, and lists of books, journals,
and articles on hot topics in education.
- Locally, by being a member of our chapter, you will:
- network with educational professionals and hear firsthand
about their experiences in the classroom;
- make an impact on our community and its students; and
- sharpen your leadership skills by serving on committees
and actively participating in meeting and events (fill
in specifics according to your chapter)
